The City of Edmond Homebuyer Assistance Program provides low-to-moderate income individuals and families with a forgivable second-mortgage loan covering 50% of the required down payment, up to $14,999, to reduce the financial barriers to homeownership within Edmond city limits. The loan is forgiven in full if the buyer maintains primary residency for five years; otherwise a 20%-per-year recapture applies. Buyers must contribute at least 1% of the purchase price from personal funds and complete an approved homebuyer education course. The program is funded by CDBG and operates on a first-come, first-served basis when annual funding is available.
