Upper Darby Township's First Time Homebuyer Program provides up to $20,000 in down payment and/or closing cost assistance to low- and moderate-income first-time buyers purchasing a single-family principal residence within the Township. Assistance is a 0% interest forgiveness loan secured by a second mortgage, with 20% forgiven each year and full forgiveness after 5 years. The program is funded with federal CDBG and HOME funds and requires homebuyer counseling, a $1,000 minimum buyer contribution, and a 620+ credit score.
